The String Theory

Ambitious theatrical project, The String Theory is a creation inviting 12 performers and more on stage.

During a 60-hour formal research, in the midst of a period of confinement, the notions of time, space, dimension and the times of life were quickly invited into our work. What is time for the human, for the object, for the space? How does time pass us through? Can we pass through it? Do we have an influence on it, as it has on us? How does this time influence our way of moving? Our movements, how do they influence our perception of the dimension, of the space, of the time?

We now wish to continue the creation in this sense.   12 humans, 46 chairs, the time of a show, the time of a life.  A life is told, in a thousand ways, from several points of view, in a series of events that take place in different dimensions and times. Are we in the presence of different individuals or of the same person, multiplied?

Here, the story is told in chorus, listening to the other, influenced by the other. We are in the presence of pieces of a mosaic which, once assembled, make up a life. Sequences combining movement and text reveal various facets which are inscribed in various dimensions whose destinies intertwine.  Sometimes it is the present that expresses itself; or the past through memories; sometimes it is dreams that pretend to be reality.  Choreographic and acrobatic sequences decomposed, in freeze-frame, replayed in reverse, which decline and unfold in these parallel universes.  A series of tableaux where isolation, gravitation, confinement, liberation, identity, love, relativity, poetry, black holes, living together, the speed of light, time dilation are addressed...The project is divided into three creative segments - Research segment - Citizen segment - Event segment - which communicate, influence and inspire each other. And, like the concepts of quantum physics that underlie this scientific theory, they behave like parallel but permeable universes. Once set in motion, these creative processes lead us "to infinity and beyond".
